Fun Bingo Variants
There's a new craze bingo craze that's sweeping the nation. Bingo cards are showing up everywhere. The number of websites dedicated to this new bingo craze seems to double almost every day, and botique rooms like halloween seasonal bingo are growing in popularity. Do you know what it is? You're probably saying, "I've heard all about online bingo, and all the benefits, and budget bingo. By now you might even have your own online bingo account and a regular bingo room to play in. You might even be spending time in between bingo games reading this article. You're probably at work, playing online bingo while your boss walks around with his foot up his ass. But this article isn't about online bingo. This new bingo craze is something different you can do while listening to your boss spew business manure about "upselling" and being a "team player."
It's Bullshit Bingo and it's not only sweeping through corporate America, but all over the world. Just look on the Internet and you'll find website upon website devoted to Bullshit Bingo. But what exactly is it? Is it actually bingo?
Somewhat, but it's a bingo created to keep you from the boring monotony of business bullshit. If you work in some kind of corporate firm you've been there before, the monthly meeting or the weekly sales "update" where you and your coworkers sit around a round table listening to your boss, who has the strange ability of sitting at the head of a round table, and blabber on in business slang. Meaningless terms like "networking" and "mission statement" will be the highlight of your day, all because of Bullshit Bingo.
Several creative business people, I'd prefer to call them entrepreneurs, took the ideas of bingo and developed a new way to make it through your weekly board meeting without the aid of ridiculous amounts of caffeine. It all starts with the bingo card, and for Bullshit Bingo you can print one out directly from the Internet or you can create your own. The idea behind this bingo card is to fill the squares with business terms, things that your boss says on a daily basis, you know, like TPS reports. During the meeting, whenever your boss says a word that's on your bingo card you can mark it off. I'm not sure a line of lucky daubers would fly in a business meeting, so you can use your pen. When you get a line across, down or diagonal you jump up and instead of yelling bingo you yell, as loud as you can, BULLSHIT!
All right, so maybe yelling bullshit during a business meeting isn't the best way to win at bingo. But imagining your boss as a bingo caller has to be a much better way to make it through a meeting than doodling on your hand. And when it's all over you can compare bingo cards around the water cooler and the winning bingo player can treat for the first round of drinks at TGIF's happy hour.
While Bullshit bingo may be fun at the office bingo can be adopted for just about any occasion including a baby shower. If you're planning a baby shower, Baby Shower Bingo could be the answer to your quest for an awesome party game. There are several ways to play, several variations and all present some really great baby shower fun.
So what is Baby Shower Bingo? As a rule, this game is played on the same principles as traditional Bingo, but with some differences. The first is the form of the cards. Though some people play Baby Shower Bingo on traditional Bingo cards but offering up prizes appropriate for a baby shower, most Baby Shower Bingo games are played using different Bingo cards.
You can purchase Baby Shower Bingo as a prepackaged set so that you need only set up the game and call the winning "numbers." Note that these are usually words or pictures related to the baby and mom-to-be.
But if you're looking for something a little more unique, you can always make your own Baby Shower Bingo cards. Start with blank cards. You can use the word "BINGO" across the top or use a word of your own choosing, just be sure that no letter is repeated in the word. You can then use traditional numbers or use words from a list you compile. You can also ask guests for suggestions for baby names before the shower, and create your Baby Shower Bingo cards using those suggestions. If you want to print some really great keepsakes, print the cards complete with the mom's name, date of shower and allow guests to sign their cards with a personal message for the mom to keep.
Another variation for Baby Shower Bingo can begin with blank cards given to each guest as they arrive. Have guests write in the name of gifts they think the mom-to-be will receive. When a gift on their list is opened, they can mark it off until someone Bingos!
This is a game you can't play online yet but a Google search turns up some variations on this game. It's a good way to get suggestions for naming your baby. Obviously this is a game meant to be played by women. It is doubtful that you will find a version of this game on most bingo websites. This is a game to be played among close friends in a real life setting. It is certainly a fun way to celebrate the anticipated arrival of a new family member. For those of you in urban areas the game is easily purchased and for those of you in rural areas the game can be found online.
